Monday Motivator: Brandon

As I get more involved in fitness, I continuously find new people who motivate and inspire me, both in my daily life and on social media. This blog segment is dedicated to those incredible guys and gals who give their all and have an admirable passion for fitness. These people have positively influenced my life, and I hope they can do the same for you.

This week’s Monday Motivator is Brandon Isaac (@isaac.brandon11). Brandon was a personal trainer at my home gym when I first got to know him, and while he now works at a different gym, he’s still doing big things! Not only is he a personal trainer, but he also has a background in football, is an instructor of the “ignite” class at Movati (includes treadmill work and circuit-based weight training), works with kids in the gym’s Youth Development Program, is a Brand Ambassador for The Supplement Superstore (Use Brandon10 for a discount!!) and even more. He is so committed to his job and passionate about what he does and it’s truly inspiring. You can tell that he really cares about everyone he works with, and his main intention is to help anyone who crosses his path.

Brandon uses his Instagram to share different classes he’s running, tips on fitness, informational posts, workout videos – basically anything you could ever want and more! One of his more recent posts on Intermittent Fasting was so interesting and really informational. Since it has seemingly become a trend to jump on the IF bandwagon, Brandon gave some good insight on how this can negatively effect the female body in particular:

“To put it simply, intermittent fasting can cause hormonal imbalance in women if it’s not done correctly. Women are extremely sensitive to signals of starvation, and if the body senses that it is being starved, it will ramp up production of the hunger hormones leptin and ghrelin.
So when women experience insatiable hunger after under-eating, they are actually experiencing the increased production of these hormones. It’s the female body’s way of protecting a potential fetus — even when a woman is not pregnant.
Of course, though, many women ignore these hunger cues causing the signals to get even louder. Or, worse, we try to ignore them, then fail and binge later, then follow that up with under-eating and starvation again. And guess what? That vicious cycle can throw your hormones out of whack and even halt ovulation.
Be smart about what you’re doing to your body. Do your research and always be knowledgeable to succeed” – @isaac.brandon11

Brandon’s constant desire to better himself as a trainer and increase his knowledge in the field is so incredibly motivating. He truly is one of the individuals I follow who increased my desire to get my Personal Training Certification (currently in progress) and get more involved with the fitness industry. So, if you can’t tell already, I would 110% recommend following him!

Thanks so much for being so encouraging and inspiring Brandon! Keep working hard and sharing your inner fire! You’re changing so many lives!!!
